About Wyco
WYCO PRL is a precision rifle league local to the Front Range area. The league includes five independent monthly one-day matches in Laramie Wyoming, Cheyenne Wyoming, N.O.C.O. at Pawnee, Colorado Springs, and Rawlins Wyoming.
WYCO was created by the two coolest guys in PRS: Jesse Shwen and Luke Zapf.
The season dates will vary so check the schedule.
- Season points are comprised of your top score from 3 different venues, this will qualify you to shoot the season finale
- At a minimum, you need one score from 3 separate venues, however, you can shoot each venue as many times as you want, we will take your best 3
- The season finale match will be held separately and points from it will be added to your season points for your final score
- Each venue will hold a match monthly, pending weather cancellations or unforeseen scheduling conflicts
Scores and points will be tracked and updated monthly on the website.

Rules
Match times, scoring, rifle restrictions, and course of fire are the responsibility of each match director
- Cancellations, disqualifications, rainouts, and final standings for the individual matches are the responsibility of the match director
- WYCO PRL season will tentatively run from March 1 – August 31 (check the schedule) only matches held on or between these dates will be eligible for scoring toward season points standings. A finale match will tentatively be held in September (check the schedule) that will be worth double the points of a regular season match.
- Registration will be left open until August 1st. Only scores after you register will count toward your WYCO points.
- Monthly match scores will be submitted by match directors to WYCO PRL for tally. Scores will be recorded as provided by the match director, shooters are encouraged to confirm their scores with the MD before leaving the match.
- The WYCO PRL competitor’s season score will be made up of their top score from 3 separate venues. This will qualify them to shoot the finale match. Points from the finale will be added to your score.
- All new competitors will begin the season “unclassified”. The competitors’ first three scores of the season will be used to classify the competitor. These classifications will carry over to each new season. The class tiers are as follows:
“A” Class – Scores greater than 87% of match-winner
“B” Class – Scores greater than 67% but less than or equal to 87% of match-winner, three consecutive match results exceeding 87% will result in the competitor moving to A-class
“C” Class – Scores less than or equal to 67% of match-winner, three consecutive match results exceeding 67% will result in the competitor moving to B-class
You can “class up” but you cannot “class down”. This means that if you initially classify as a “B” shooter based on your first three (3) scores and continue to improve throughout the year, resulting in three (3) consecutive match scores over 87%, you are now permanently an “A” shooter. Certain circumstances may allow a shooter to “class down” and will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
- WYCO PRL points will be derived from the individual match scores. The top shooter for each match will receive 100 WYCO points, each shooter will receive WYCO points as a percentage of the match winners’ points.
Example:
- The match winner gets 69 out of 81 possible points – Receives 100 WYCO points
- The next highest shooter gets 67 points – 67 is 97.101% of 69 – 97.101 WYCO points
- 13th place shooter gets 41 points – 41 is 59.420% of 69 – 59.420 WYCO points
- Tiebreakers. Ties for placement that occur at an individual match will be decided by the match director. In the event, two or more shooters tie for first place at an individual match, both shooters will receive 100 WYCO points. Ties for places less than first will receive the same WYCO points as per the scoring formula.
- Competitors are required to follow the rules of each individual match. Any intentional deviation from these rules to improve one’s standings or altering scorecards to reflect a score other than what a competitor received according to match rules may be cause to forfeit WYCO PRL points for that match or the season, to be determined by WYCO PRL, following review.
