About Wyco
WYCO PRL is a precision rifle league built for shooters across the Front Range. Our series brings together five independent monthly one-day matches hosted in Laramie, WY · Cheyenne, WY · Pawnee (N.O.C.O.), CO · Colorado Springs, CO · Rawlins, WY.
Founded by Jesse Shwen and Luke Zapf, WYCO PRL is designed to be both competitive and welcoming — a place where brand-new shooters can learn, and experienced competitors can push their limits. Whether you’re chasing a win or simply looking to improve, WYCO PRL offers the chance to compete, track your progress, and still be home for dinner.
The season culminates in a Finale Match, where qualified shooters bring the year’s experience together for one championship event.

Rules
1. Match Director Authority
Match times, scoring, rifle restrictions, and course of fire are determined by each Match Director (MD).
Cancellations, disqualifications, rainouts, and final standings for individual matches are the responsibility of the MD.
2. Season Dates
The WYCO PRL season tentatively runs April 1 – August 31 (see official schedule).
Only matches listed on the schedule count toward season points.
The Finale Match will be held in September and is worth double points.
3. Registration
Registration is open until August 1.
Only scores posted after registration count toward WYCO points.
4. Score Submission
Monthly match scores are submitted by MDs to WYCO PRL.
Scores are recorded exactly as reported.
Competitors are responsible for confirming their scores with the MD before leaving a match.
5. Season Scoring & Finale Qualification
A competitor’s season score is the sum of their top scores from three (3) different venues.
Recording scores from three venues qualifies the shooter for the Finale.
Points earned at the Finale are added to the competitor’s season total.
Classifications are locked going into the Finale — competitors shoot in the class they’ve earned during the season.
6. Classification System
All competitors begin each new season as Unclassified.
A competitor’s first three scores are averaged to determine initial classification.
Class Tiers
A Class: Average greater than 87% of match winner.
B Class: Average greater than 67% and ≤ 87%. Three consecutive scores above 87% will move the shooter to A Class.
C Class: Average ≤ 67%. Three consecutive scores above 67% will move the shooter to B Class.
Classing Rules
Competitors can class up, but not class down.
Example: If a shooter begins in B Class and later records three consecutive scores above 87%, they are permanently an A Class shooter.
Exceptions to classing down may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Classifications are locked for the Finale — you will compete in the class you’ve earned during the season.
7. WYCO Points System
The match winner receives 100 WYCO points.
All other shooters receive points as a percentage of the winner’s score.
Example:
Winner scores 69/81 → earns 100 WYCO points.
Next shooter scores 67/81 (97.101% of 69) → earns 97.101 WYCO points.
13th place scores 41/81 (59.420% of 69) → earns 59.420 WYCO points.
8. Tiebreakers
Ties at individual matches are resolved by the MD.
If two or more shooters tie for first place, all tied shooters receive 100 WYCO points.
Ties for all other places are scored strictly by the WYCO formula.
9. Sportsmanship & Integrity
Competitors must follow the rules of each match.
Any intentional rule violation, falsification of scores, or misconduct intended to gain advantage may result in loss of WYCO PRL points for that match or the season.
Final decisions on disciplinary matters rest with WYCO PRL.
